TRIP

Hello, this is Danno.

I'm going to document the day I took the bullet train with my son recently.

We're already used to taking the bullet train and airplane together,
but when he was 0.1 years old, he used to sleep in the baby carrier, so we managed.

Lately, it's been difficult for him to nap when I want him to,
and he often shouts or wanders around instead of sitting still.
So I was a bit nervous, but I hope this serves as a reference for single-parent long-distance travel.

On the day, I headed to Shinagawa in this style.

I hung an A SCENE sports pouch,

inside which I had a B&C PVC pocket as a wallet, and
my bullet train ticket. The stroller is a Cybex Melio Carbon.

I packed as much as possible for two people in the luggage space below,
and carried whatever I could in my backpack, lol.

I hung my son's backpack on the stroller, with toys and snacks inside. Even just getting him into the stroller is a battle, so I tried to leave as early as possible in the morning.

In the end, I barely made it onto the train I intended to catch.

On the way, I gave him the rice balls and bread I brought,

filling his stomach before getting on the bullet train. I changed his diaper right before boarding.

In car 11, you don't need to fold the stroller because you can place it next to the seat along with wheelchairs!
This is a tip my mom friend taught me.
If you're a parent who finds taking a stroller on the bullet train bothersome, please use this tip ♡

It's super convenient, it saved me ( ; ; )

Of course, I wanted him to sleep at this point, but no such luck, lol.
I tried to keep him busy with coloring and stickers and absolutely not let him watch YouTube!

I thought,

"Show me Uncle Blippi!!" he cried,
so I reluctantly let him have YouTube time.
(He's obsessed with Blippi lately, calling him Uncle Blippi, lol.)

Eventually, while I was rocking the stroller in front of the toilet, he fell asleep around Nagoya. Sigh.

From Shin-Kobe to my parents' house, the 30-minute train ride was also managed by distraction, and we arrived safely.

After eating Grandma's food, he went to bed earlier than usual, perhaps tired from the long journey. ☻

Personally, my tips for long-distance travel are:

・Fill their stomachs whenever possible
・Wake up early, get plenty of activity, and make sure they poop before leaving the house! Lol
・Always use a smartphone with a shoulder strap!

The custom addition to the sports pouch this time was
the new paracord shoulder in BLUE x BLACK.

You can see it there, so please stop by if you're in the area. ♡
